Job Description:
- Performs and documents all procedures and assessments according to department policy.
- Obtains or delegates the obtaining of a nursing history and complete admission assessments, including pain screening.
- Evaluates patients for age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, physiological norms, and signs of abuse or neglect.
- Conducts follow-up assessments and evaluations to monitor patient progress. Identifies patient teaching needs and provide education on a planned or spontaneous basis.
- Administers treatments and medications, interpret and verify physician orders, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) [Preferred]• Computer proficiency [Required]• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, [Required]• Must have knowledge and skill in providing care and initiating procedures for patients with medical and/or surgical conditions
• Must be competent in the use of a computer, telephone, copier, fax machine, stethoscope, blood pressure monitor, thermometer, glucose monitor, pulse oximeter, weight scale, ENT scope, personal protective equipment, and other patient care equipment necessary to perform required duties as appropriate to the scope of the practice
• Must tactfully handle delicate, sensitive, and sometimes, controversial issues related to the care of terminally ill patients and their families
• Must have good clinical judgment
• Must promote patient safety through effective communication
• Oncology experience [Required]• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures [Required]• Ability to work as a team player within a unit [Required]• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills [Required]• Knowledge of Radiation Oncology clinical pathways [Required]• PACU, Pre- and Post-Anesthesia Knowledge [Required]

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

• 1+ acute care experience [Preferred]• 1+ oncology experience [Preferred]
